OUR PROCESS

How a Gutter Project Works, From Quote to Walkthrough

What to expect at every step — no surprises, no high-pressure close at the door, no national call center handling your warranty.

Licensed Idaho Contractor

SEVEN STEPS

Every step, with the detail most contractors gloss over.

Pulled straight from how we actually run projects — the timeline, the questions we ask, what you’re responsible for, and what we handle.

  1. Initial call or form submission

You reach out by phone at (208) 247-2660 or through the quote form. We ask a few quick questions to scope the visit: which service, approximate home size, single or two-story, the city or neighborhood, and what prompted the call (a leak, planning a replacement, looking at guards, etc.). Have your address, the rough age of the existing gutters, and any photos of problem areas ready — it helps us bring the right tools and gives you a better range to expect at the estimate.

  2. On-site estimate

We come to your home, walk the full perimeter, and measure every eave run with a tape and pitch level. We inspect fascia for rot, check the existing gutter pitch, look at downspout routing, and identify any access challenges. Most single-story estimates take about 45 minutes to an hour; complex two-story homes or custom builds take longer. No high-pressure close at the door — we explain what we see and what we recommend, then leave you with the information.

  3. Written quote

You get a written quote within a few business days (sooner for repair calls). The quote itemizes labor, materials, downspout count, color or profile choice, and any optional add-ons separately so you can adjust scope. The quoted price is valid for 30 days — material costs do shift, and we keep the window honest. What's not included is also called out: fascia repair beyond what we flagged, roof work, or anything you'd want a different trade to handle.

  4. Scheduling

Once you accept the quote, we schedule the install. Typical lead time is one to three weeks depending on season — spring and fall are our busiest windows; mid-summer and mid-winter are usually faster. We confirm the install date by call or text 48 hours before, and again the morning of. Weather delays are real in Idaho; we don't install seamless gutters in heavy rain or sub-freezing conditions, and we'll reschedule rather than rush a bad install.

  5. Install day

Our crew arrives at the confirmed time. We park the gutter truck in the driveway or street (we'll confirm placement with you), set up access on a stable side of the home, and start with old gutter removal if it's a replacement. The seamless machine forms each run on-site from coil stock. Most single-story homes are complete in one day; two-story and complex rooflines can take one to two days. Your responsibility is just having outdoor access clear — landscaping moved back, gates unlocked, pets inside. Ours is everything else, including cleanup.

  6. Walkthrough and water test

Before we pack up, we walk the full installation with you. Every run gets a water test — we run a hose through to confirm proper pitch, joint integrity, and clean flow to the downspout. You see the test with us. We point out anything we adjusted from the original quote and confirm the work matches what was on paper. You sign off only after you've seen the system working.

  7. After install

You receive the warranty paperwork — both our workmanship coverage and the manufacturer warranties on materials. We follow up after the next major rain or snow event to confirm the system is working as expected. Call us at (208) 247-2660 anytime if you notice a leak, a sagging section, or anything else worth a look — warranty repairs are handled in-house, not through a third-party queue.

WHAT’S DIFFERENT

What we do that the high-pressure outfits don’t.

Estimates are written, not verbal

You get an itemized quote you can compare side-by-side with another contractor. Verbal “today only” numbers don’t exist here.

No same-day close pressure

Take the quote, sleep on it, get a second opinion. We’d rather lose jobs to honest competitors than book customers who feel rushed.

Water test on every install

Every run is hose-tested before we leave. You watch the test with us. If a run pools or leaks, we fix it on the spot — not on a callback.

In-house warranty handling

Call (208) 247-2660 with a warranty issue and you reach the same team that did the install. No ticket queue, no third-party network.

Frequently asked questions

How long from quote to install?
Typical lead time is one to three weeks from accepting the quote to install day, depending on season. Spring (April–June) and fall (September–November) are our busiest windows. Mid-summer and mid-winter are usually faster — sometimes within a week. Emergency repair calls are scheduled within a few business days when possible.
Do I need to be home for the estimate or install?
Estimate: ideally yes, so we can walk the property with you and answer questions on the spot. If your schedule doesn't allow it, we can do the estimate alone and call you with the walkthrough. Install: not required if we have outdoor access and your contact phone is available — many of our installs happen while homeowners are at work. We text photos when the job is done.
How do I prepare my home for install day?
Move landscaping, planters, and outdoor furniture about three feet back from the home's perimeter where possible. Unlock side gates if they're normally closed. Bring pets inside for the day — the crew is in and out of the yard with ladders and the seamless machine. That's it. We handle drop cloths, cleanup, and debris removal.
What about weather delays?
We don't install seamless gutters in heavy rain (sealant won't set correctly) or in sustained sub-freezing temperatures (butyl sealant needs above-freezing conditions to cure). If the forecast turns, we'll call you the day before and reschedule. We'd rather push a day than install something that fails in the first storm.
Do you clean up after the install?
Yes. We sweep up every screw and aluminum cutoff, haul the old gutter material in our truck, and leave the yard cleaner than we found it. If we find a single aluminum sliver in your driveway a week later, we owe you an apology and a return visit to re-sweep.
