Total linear footage
Guards are priced per foot, so the perimeter of your roof drives the base number. We measure on-site rather than estimating from satellite.
Story count and access
Two-story homes and walkout basements add ladder time and may require a second crew member for safe access. That shows up in the quote.
Existing gutter condition
Guards installed over clogged or sagging gutters fail. We clean and reseal first; that step is bundled but adds to the work scope when the existing system is far gone.
Guard system selected
Stainless micro-mesh costs more than aluminum micro-mesh, and aluminum micro-mesh costs more than perforated screens. The right choice depends on your debris mix — pine, fir, cottonwood, or deciduous leaves.
Hidden hanger reinforcement
Older gutters often have hangers spaced too far apart for the added weight of guards plus snow load. Adding hangers is a small line item but it shows up on homes built before about 1995.
Color match
Black blends with most asphalt shingles. Bronze or dark brown for darker fascia is a special order on some systems and may have a small upcharge or lead time.
Roof pitch and debris exposure
