Copper Gutters Cost Calculator in Boise & the Treasure Valley
Copper gutter installations are not priced in the standard calculator — they run 3 to 5 times the per-linear-foot cost of aluminum because of material price and skilled soldering labor at every joint. This page covers the variables; for a copper-specific quote, call (208) 247-2660.
The calculator below shows aluminum ranges only — multiply by 3–5× for a rough copper baseline. The example project profiles below show typical full copper installs at common home sizes.

COST DRIVERS
What drives the cost of copper gutters.
Copper gutter installations are significantly more expensive than aluminum — typically 3 to 5 times the per-linear-foot cost — reflecting both material price and the skilled soldering labor at every joint. Variables that affect the quote: gauge (16oz vs. 20oz), profile (half-round vs. K-style), total linear footage, downspout count, and story count. Our cost calculator provides a general range for gutter installation; contact us for a copper-specific on-site estimate.
Total linear footage
Copper is priced per linear foot like aluminum, but the per-foot rate is 3–5× higher because of material cost and soldering labor.
Copper gauge (16oz vs 20oz)
16oz copper is the residential standard. 20oz heavy-gauge is used on wider profiles, longer unsupported spans, and premium custom projects.
Profile (half-round vs K-style)
Half-round copper is the historically correct profile for pre-1950 and craftsman homes. K-style copper fits contemporary and colonial architecture.
Soldered joint count
Every miter, end cap, and downspout outlet is soldered with lead-free plumbing solder. More corners and outlets means more skilled labor time.
Copper or copper-compatible hangers
Copper systems use copper or stainless hangers — never aluminum or galvanized, which cause galvanic corrosion. Hardware cost is meaningfully higher than aluminum systems.
Downspout count and routing
Round corrugated copper downspouts are the standard match. Downspout routing also needs to plan around copper runoff staining on light masonry.
Story count and access
Copper is heavier than aluminum, especially at 20oz. Multi-story and steep-pitch installs take longer to fit safely.
Fabrication time
Copper sections are pre-fabricated to your measurements before install day. Lead time is longer than aluminum and the upfront design conversation is part of the scope.
